The Ford Motor Company has had great success with their Transit Connect model in Europe. Now this efficient, mid-sized work van is available in the U.S. and it has been well received. Constructed to be malleable, fuel efficient and affordable, American business owners are rapidly falling in love with this uncommon new Ford.

ThyssenKrupp Elevator, the largest producer of elevators in North America has begun replacing their large cargo vans and trucks for Transit Connects. The company is focused on reducing fuel consumption and was attracted to the Transit Connect’s EPA of 22 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. Over half of the company’s vehicles are operated by service mechanics that do not need a bulky vehicle but must have a payload capacity of approximately 1,200 pounds. The Transit Connect was a logical choice.

ThyssenKrupp Elevator currently owns 90 Transit Connects, has another 50 on order and plans to swap up to 1,500 cargo vans and larger vehicles with the Transit Connect. The company redesignedthe cargo area of their Transit Connects to maximize storage for tools and parts. Beyond reduced fuel expenses and the customized cargo space the company also enjoys theroominess of the interiorandbetter visibility from the large front and side windows and mirrors.

Edible Arrangements International is also enthusiastic about the Transit Connect. The specialty fruit bouquet company is currently using 20 Transit Connects in its fleet of delivery vehicles and plans to purchase 15 to 20 more in the near future. Company employees find the Transit Connect easier to load and unload than a cargo van because doors open on both sides of the vehicle. They also find it easier to navigate through residential areas and park in small spaces.

Edible Arrangements opted to add shelves to their Transit Connects and worked with Ford and a third party vendor to build an electric driven refrigerated cargo area. The company loves the unique styling of the Transit Connect because it calls attention to itself. With almost 90% of the exterior surface of the Transit Connect available for graphics, the vehicles also double as mobile billboards.

Even though the Transit Connect has only been here a short whileit seems to be catching on. It has already been awarded the 2010 North American Truck of the Year and with a price point of around $21,500 businesses will be flocking to buy them. It’s possible this flexible affordable, fuel efficient vehicle will change the way we think about work trucks and utility vehicles in the future.

Get the value of your car before you purchase it sell it, or trade in, you’ll want to know what the true value is. Kelley blue book values offer you the opportunity to find out what the estimated value is of your own car or truck and there are many companies that used this estimation to place a value on a vehicle.

Even if you’re purchasing a brand-new vehicle, Kelley blue book will offer you a way to find out a value. So whether you’re selling, shopping, or trading one that is new or used, fill in a simple form, tell them everything you know about your vehicle, and you get an estimated value.

Take a moment to get the registration or write down what you know about your care or truck, you need the make, model, and of course the year and all of the options.

Then go to Kelley blue book website, it’s simple, and easy. Click on the used car value box, and then proceed to fill in the short form. Within a few moments you will have to three different values.

The values you will see indicate what your car may be worth if you were to sell it at retail, if you were to sell it for a private party sale, and also its trading in value.

Remember, many different companies use the Kelley blue book in order to estimate the car value. This means that your insurance company may also use the Kelley blue book for replacement value.

Although the Ford F150 has been made since 1975 and due to the company still producing the F100 this particular truck was commonly referred to by Ford as the “Heavy Half Ton”. But even though this truck has been around for more than 30 years now it wasn’t until the late 1990’s (1999) this motor company chose to produce the Ford Harley Davidson F150 truck.

However since the first of this trucks models was produced back in 1999 there have several updated versions produced. But each one that is produced takes into account the believes and philosophies that have made the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Company what it is today. In this article below we take a look at the two latest models of this truck to be released and which are going to become favorites with both Ford and Harley Davidson enthusiasts alike.

1. The 2006 Ford Harley Davidson F150 Supercab – A beautiful looking vehicle which provides the rough and ruggedness you expect from a Ford truck but with the added benefits of some beautiful custom detailing, such as you would see on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. The exterior of the vehicle monotone but comes with a custom scalloped red paint stripe running the complete length of the vehicle which is then further accentuated by electric blue. Along with this custom paintwork on the vehicle at set intervals along the vehicles belt line you will find the Harley Davidson script.

In order to provide the vehicle with a much more menancing look and bring it into line with the kinds of looks that Harley Davidson motorcycles have. Ford have chosen to provide it with a chrome billet grille, plus the headlamps and taillights have also been blacked out. Finally they have included highly polished 22 inch forged aluminum rims to further add to its menacing looks.

2. Ford Harley Davidson F150 Supercrew – Introduced to the motoring world in 2007 this vehicle not only comes with a monotone black exterior but also a dark amethyst one as well. But just like the 2006 Supercab this one comes with the 22 inch polished aluminum wheels and billet grille in chrome. Plus just like the Supercab the headlights and taillights have been blacked out once more and which are a standard feature to be found on these models of F150 trucks.

The major difference between the 2006 Supercab and the 2007 Supercrew is what is under the hood. A person who purchases the 2007 model has the option of having a supercharger fitted to the Harley Davidson engine. This is normally to be found on Ford’s Shelby GT500 and once fitted to this F150 will give the owner 450 break horsepower.

Along with all the normal refinements that Ford include in their vehicles they have added additions which make it almost feel as you riding on the open road on a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The captains chairs within the Ford Harley Davidson F150 are completely unique as the leather used has had the Harley Davidson logo embedded into them. Plus through the addition of lots of chrome accessories within the cab have further added to the feel of it being a completely customized vehicle just like the motorcycles it has been named after.

Manufactured by Ford and based on its CD3 platform, the 2009 Ford Edge is a premium crossover Sports Utility Vehicle. The platform is similar to the one used by the Mazda6 and Lincoln MKX series, being shared with the Ford Fusion, the Mercury Milan, the Mazda CX-9 and the Lincoln MKZ.

The Edge attempts to bridge the gap that exists between minivans, such as the now discontinued Freestar, and the more truck-like SUVs, for example the Explorer. Ford officially places the Edge lower down than the Taurus in the crossover Sports utility vehicle lineup, despite not being noticeable smaller.

The 2009 Ford Edge is the latest model in the Edge range and that attempts to live up to the demand for a spacious, yet stylish, car. This five-passenger utility vehicle has several interesting features. Ford insists that this is much more than just a car, suggesting that it is a cross between a minivan and a truck.

The 2009 Ford Edge is powered by a 3. 5 liter V6 engine that churns out approximately 265 horsepower with a six speed automatic transition. Front wheel drive is standard although all-wheel drive is available. This model has safety feature that include front impact, front seat-mounted, side-impact and front/rear curtain airbags, four wheel anti-lock brakes, AdvanceTrac electronic stability control, and a tire-pressure monitoring system as standard.

The Edge series made its public debut at the 2006 North American International Auto Show in January 2006, with production starting in the October 2006 as a 2007 model, with the first ones reaching dealerships just before December 25, 2006, because of a brief delay in production due to issues with the supplier. The 2009 Ford Edge implements Ford’s front end design with a three bar chrome grille.

The 2009 Ford Edge has a fuel economy that is rated at 15 to 16 miles per gallon in the city, and 22 to 24 miles per gallon on the highway. As mentioned above, the Edge is available in both all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive and uses Ford’s front end design with its distinctive three-bar chrome grille. Although the 2007 series was introduced with the three trim levels of SE, SEL, and SEL Plus, the 2009 series has dispensed with the SEL Plus version.

Standard features on all versions of the 2009 Ford Edge include air conditioning, cruise control, driver’s seat lumbar support, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, power windows, power door locks, and power mirrors, remote keyless entry and P235/65R17 tires on alloy wheels. Safety equipment on this car includes the standard dual front airbags, front side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags, anti-lock brakes, traction control, electronic stability control, and a tire-pressure monitoring system.

The Ford escort over the years, especially in North America, wore many different types of sheet-metal though all were aimed the compact market — which prior to 1981 Ford had for all intents and purposes ignored. Beginning in that model year, however Ford introduced what it called “the world car” for the benefit of its customers in North America.

The Escort had a very successful run of things, lasting through the end of the 2003 model year, when it was finally succeeded by its replacement, the Focus. Initially, the Escort was almost completely based off of a European model of the same name, though it was redesigned before introduction to the domestic market for the 1981 model year.

The Ford Escort was also the company’s first front-wheel-drive car, and it replaced Ford’s subcompact Pinto, which had been in production since 1971 and had been through several controversies which impacted sales of that model. In the 1980s, the Escort was one of Ford’s most successful models. In fact, it was so well-liked that it was the single best selling car in the United States by its second year and for most of the 1980s.

In all, the Escort carried on through three generations of increasingly improved vehicles and body styles that reflected the age in which the car was built. It was offered in a number of different engine and transmission combinations, even including a 52 hp diesel engine and a higher performance turbocharged model that delivered 120 hp, which was a fairly robust engine, given the Escort’s relatively small size.

By the third generation, which ran from 1997 until 2002, the people at Ford had managed to deliver a seriously well-liked vehicle that managed to deliver good performance from its four-cylinder engine (four cylinder engines were the only power plants available) while also managing to deliver a nicely styled automobile for the masses.

There were more than a few body styles that the Escort sported throughout its life; three-door hatchbacks were very popular for a time, as were a number of different station wagons and four-door sedans. Additionally, a few different sport coupe models — starting in 1998 — were thrown into the mix, with the Blue Oval folks working to keep the interiors and exteriors fresh and up-to-date.

The Ford Escort filled a vital niche for the Dearborn Michigan automaker at its introduction in throughout over two decades of life. It’s allowed Ford to experiment with compact vehicles while also delivering healthy sales that The Ford nameplate out in front and in the minds of a great many consumers. For these reasons, the little compact Ford can’t be considered anything else but a success.

Ford has come out with an entire new line of work trucks that offer many options in body style and horsepower and all three of the 2010 Ford Superduty trucks have what it takes to get the job done. These work trucks are exactly what they promote themselves to be, truly capable works trucks. Trucks that will do what they say and say what they do, without hesitation working harder than any other truck in the industry.

Available in three sizes the new 2010 Ford Superduty work trucks offer whatever is needed to get the job accomplished. Starting with the F-250 these work trucks offer three different power trains. There is a 300 horse power 5. 4 liter V-8, a 362 horsepower 6. 8 liter V-10 and the biggest power source of all the 350 horse 600 lb/ft torque 6. 0 liter diesel.

All three power sources in the new line of 2010 Ford Superduty trucks come with the option of either an automatic or manual transmission. The manual is a six speed, while the automatic is a five speed torque shift transmission.

The big boy in the group is the 2010 Ford superduty F-450. Truly a colossal work horse – a virtual Clydesdale of work horses, this bad boy only comes with the diesel package and has enough power to pull either of its little brothers fully loaded.

Huge power drives, great brakes, and smooth transmissions are not all the 2010 Ford Superduty trucks have going for them. The ride is comfortable no matter which package you decide, and while the massive F-450 certainly does not ride like a luxury automobile it will provide the smoothest ride in a vehicle its size.

All of these trucks offer an array of extras that will help to make the job easier and your work load lighter. The interiors are nicely equipped and off a touch of luxury in a vehicle designed to provide raw horse power, making the 2010 Ford Superduty an all around great work partner.

The cab of the 2010 Ford Superduty trucks come available with a list of accessories including WI-FI radio and an innovative tool link system that helps you keep track of everything.

All of these elements combine to create a line of work trucks that are as a whole greater that their parts, strong engines, reliable brakes, smooth transmissions and smart interiors make the 2010 Ford Superduty trucks a true force to be reckoned with.

Technologically, the Escort was Ford’s first car sporting front-wheel-drive and it took over the small car duties from the Pinto, a car that made its debut in 1971 and was always a vehicle that elicited no small amount of controversy. The Escort was nothing like the Pinto, though, and became one of the Dearborn automaker’s most popular vehicles. “The little Ford that could” became the country’s best-selling car in its second year and throughout most of the 80s.

Over the course of the third and last generation, which lasted from 1997 through the end of 2002, engineers at Ford had managed to demonstrate a real facility with the design and manufacture of compact vehicles, managing to squeeze increasingly good performance and reliability from a variety of four-cylinder engines while also giving customers nice styling, especially for the relative low prices the Escort sold at.

Over its life, the Ford Escort played a vital part in keeping the car’s Dearborn-based automaker alive and well. Keeping it in showrooms allowed the company to learn how to manufacture compact vehicles while simultaneously selling a great many of them to many a customer. This had the happy effect of keeping the Blue Oval on the minds of many consumers and for that reason alone, the Escort must be considered a success.

More than one new vehicle the 2010 Ford Superduty is an entire line of work trucks. These trucks vary in size and style from the F-20 all the way up to the massive F-450. No matter which one you select all these big boys are designed to handle the tough jobs and will make you proud you chose a 2010 Ford Superduty as your work partner.

The 2010 Ford Superduty F-250 and F-350 have an assortment of power sources. A 5. 4 liter 3V SOHC putting out 300 horses, a 6. 8 liter V-10 that’s carries a whopping 362 horses and finally the diesel 6. 0 liter produces 350 horses with a whopping 600 pound-foot of torque.

All three power sources in the new line of 2010 Ford Superduty trucks come with the option of either an automatic or manual transmission. The manual is a six speed, while the automatic is a five speed torque shift transmission.

Matching the power in these work trucks, the 2010 Ford Superduty trucks provide the perfect braking ability with standard ABS brakes. These brakes promise to be able to provide the right amount of stopping power to match the hard working engines. Not only do these trucks work hard but they offer unquestionable safety.

Great power and equally great brakes and traction control is not the only thing the 2010 Ford Superduty bad boys offer their co-workers (you the driver). These work trucks truly offer all the necessary items to make a great work truck. Power is not enough alone to be a truly good worker one must be efficient and able to be manage as well as do.

Pulling power is important in a work truck but equally important is the ability to stop. The 2010 Ford Superduty trucks all come with 4 wheel ABS standard brakes and all time traction control to help keep these work horses on the road under any condition.

With electronic goodies such as an optional WI-FI radio system and a new technology for work trucks, Ford’s ingenious tool tracking system the 2010 Ford Superduty trucks are as smart as they are tough.

All of these elements combine to create a line of work trucks that are as a whole greater that their parts, strong engines, reliable brakes, smooth transmissions and smart interiors make the 2010 Ford Superduty trucks a true force to be reckoned with.

The Ford Expedition is a wonderful SUV. I actually own one myself and wouldn’t trade it for anything. I have driven vans, cars and a truck and now that I have my Ford Expedition I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. This sport utility vehicle has definitely changed my life and the way my kids ride. We purchased our 2006 Ford Expedition approximately 6 months ago now. It had 63, 000 miles on it and the price was very affordable for all the features that it came with. We only paid $15, 000 thousand dollars for it. Let me tell you it was well worth it.

All the standard Ford Expeditions come equipped with the latest technologies, CD player, AM/FM player, power windows, cruise control, a roof rack, tilt steering, power seats, automatic transmission and air conditioning some even come with a navigation system. The newer models start out around 35, 000 dollars and go as high as 55, 000 dollars depending on what features you would like.

Most Ford Expeditions come standard with 3rd row seating which seats 9 passengers comfortably. We have a family of 7 and it is nice to all load up and still have room to carry extra people. It is nice to be able to go to the grocery store or on vacation and not be crammed in and still have room.

The Ford Expedition rides smooth, handles curves well and even has a great towing capacity. We have a pontoon boat and have had no problem hooking the trailer up and dragging the pontoon anywhere we want to go.

The gas mileage has been approximately 17 miles a gallon and costs around 40-45. 00 to fill it up. The only downside or problem that I have had is that we live so far out in the country that we have to fill up sooner than I would like to. But overall it is well worth it and I can easily overlook the gas mileage because of all its other features.

The Expedition has a very sporty look about it. It comes with black running boards which is trendy and makes the high step up easy to accomplish. There is also a handle inside the door so as you are stepping up you can hold on and feel secure.

I would definitely recommend the Ford Expedition to everyone. It has four doors so no one is climbing over anyone’s lap you can get in with ease and still have plenty of room. The Ford Expedition is well worth its price tag.

Designed to replace the older Ford EXP, it was built on the Mazda G chassis and platform and was a front wheel driver that had actually been intended to eventually replace the iconic Ford Mustang in the company’s lineup.

The original intent in manufacturing the Probe was that it would give Ford a vehicle that would deliver good fuel economy that would help customers deal with anticipate steep rises in oil prices to come. Both the 4 and 6 cylinder models delivered good fuel economy and performance, and helped Ford improve its corporate fuel economy average. Though it did all this quite well, sales never lived up to expectations, sad to say.

When it was introduced, the Probe sported a futuristic wedge-type shape that attracted many but also left more than a few potential buyers a little cold. Produced at the joint-venture Ford/Mazda facility in Flat Rock, Michigan, it shared many of its mechanicals with the similar Mazda 626 though the Probe’s sheetmetal was far, far different.

Sales underperformed for most of the Probe’s 8 model years, with 32, 000 being sold during its last run in 1997, when Ford discontinued its manufacture. It was hoped that sales would pick up after the redesigned model won Car of the Year back in 1993 but after an initial uptick, sales dropped back to ever-decreasing numbers.

Engine power was always good in the model, with even the small 2. 2 liter inline four cylinder engine putting out an adequate 110hp. An early turbocharged version of that same power plant managed to kick out 148 horses, with a normally-aspirated V6 putting out just 5 horsepower less. In all, there were just two generations of this able import fighter.

For its time, and taking into account the Ford corporate inability to be fully responsive to changes in the marketplace in a swift manner, the Probe was a quite surprising vehicle from the Blue Oval folks. It came loaded with advanced – for the day – technical features in engines, chassis and other components, and the first generation design was anything but staid and utilitarian in appearance.

The years since the model’s discontinuation have proven the durability of the second generation’s chassis and underpinnings, and there are still a number of outstanding examples of the hot-rod version of the Probe (the GT, which boasted a normally aspirated V6 that put out 164 robust horses), which came kitted out in front-wheel drive and a vigorous performance stance.
